What can you build in 12 hours?
We're back for our third round, and this time, we're going all out. Think bigger prizes, bigger crowds, bigger sponsors, and bigger excitement. That means $9000+ in food and prizes, a food truck, tons of free swag, official event T-shirts, and representation from Pomona Ventures, Intuit, Yelp, Microsoft, Atlassian, Amazon, Pivotal Labs, Google, 10gen, and more.
What is a hackathon? An event in which teams of students build something awesome in 12 hours, where that "something" can range from a web app, to an AI player, to a Raspberry Pi hack.
Do I need to be a pro at coding to participate? No! Designers, product people, and programming novices are great assets to any hackathon team. We've welcomed teams that spend the night playing around with static HTML pages, developing games in ObjectDraw, or figuring out Ruby on Rails - these are all awesome projects too! Plus, we'll be running Hack Week the week of April 8th, which is a series of nightly tutorials where we'll teach you how to build a web app from the ground up.
