Ken Charhut - President and CEO, Compellon Inc.
Ken has spent over 25 years in the medical products market with the last 10 years devoted to private companies. Currently, he is serving as President and CEO of Compellon Inc. as well as Chairman of the Board of Reshape Medical. As President and CEO of MindFrame Inc., he successfully led the company’s development and eventual sale to Covidien’s Neurovascular Division. He has served as an independent board member of Arges Imaging during its successful sale to Sirona Dental. He successfully co-led the M&A of Micro Dexterity Systems to Stryker, where he served as independent director. Other operating roles were President and CEO of Orqis Medical Corporation a privately funded company in the CHF space. During his association with the private companies, he has raised over $150mm from various private sources. Prior to Orqis, he spent 16 years in general management positions with Baxter Healthcare Corporation. He served as President of the Bentley division and President of New Business Initiatives for the Cardiovascular Surgery Division. He spent 4 years in Japan as Managing Director of Baxter Japan Cardiovascular Division. As Vice President Automation Distribution Systems, he developed the pharmacy automation business for Baxter. He has served on several industry councils including, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan. Currently he serves as a Board Member of the Southern California Biomedical Council. Mr. Charhut received his BSME degree from Cornell University and a MBA from the University of Chicago.
George Wallace - General Partner, Intersect Partners LLC
George is currently General Partner of Intersect Partners LLC, a company formed as a research and investment vehicle to conduct research and development for medical device solutions to large and unmet medical needs. He sits on the Boards of portfolio companies Altura Medical Inc, MindFrame Inc., ReShape Medical Inc., Spinal Kinetics Inc. He is also a Venture Partner for SV Life Sciences. He was previously with Sub-Q Inc, where he was a co-founder, Chairman, President and CEO, Micro Therapeutics, Inc., Su-Q Inc. and TranS1 Inc. While CEO at Micro Therapeutics, George spun off two companies, Enteric Medical Technologies which was sold to Boston Scientific Corporation and Genyx Medical which was sold to CR Bard. He has worked for Applied Medical Resources, Vaser Inc. and Edwards Laboratories, a division of American Hospital Supply.
