Gemma Craven, Executive Vice President, NY Group Head at Social@Ogilvy

Gemma Craven Gemma Craven leads the Social@Ogilvy team at Ogilvy New York, responsible for Ogilvy’s team of social media and word-of-mouth marketing experts. She also runs a wider social working council at Ogilvy NY, focusing on the design of integrated social solutions that combine deep disciplines like CRM, public relations, and shopper marketing with social theory and practice.

Gemma leads senior client relationships with UPS and LG, heading up thought leadership, strategic direction and ensuring creativity and effectiveness across all work. She is also a regular guest lecturer at NYU and Columbia, leading classes on social media theory and practice with a specialization on the intersection of social and business. Her experience in advising and leading clients on the development of community, conversation and reaching key influencers comes from 13 years working with brands ranging from IKEA, Gap, Unilever and Nestle to BBC, News Corp, Microsoft and IBM.

Prior to Ogilvy she was global digital communications lead for IBM’s US joint venture with Ricoh, InfoPrint, and Broadcom, the chip company powering many of the innovations currently coming to market in today’s smartphones. Gemma moved to the US in 2007. Roles held in the UK included a stint as Head of Technology and Digital Media at Midnight, a UK-based digital boutique where she developed integrated programs for AOL’s Advertising.com, Fujifilm, wireless network provider iBahn, Greenlight SEO and pioneering social network LunarStorm. A French speaker, Gemma also specializes in planning and executing global campaigns, having spent time living and working in France, working with Hackett Group, a Paris-based consulting firm. She is a graduate of University of Sussex in the UK and Université d’Aix Marseille in France where she studied French and European Studies and French for Business.

Lauren Drell, Campaigns Editor, Mashable

Lauren Drell Lauren Drell is the Campaigns Editor at Mashable, where she manages advertiser-supported campaigns and writes and edits supported content. Lauren joined Mashable in February 2011 as an assistant editor and is based in New York.

Before joining Mashable, Lauren worked as a multimedia reporter at AOL Small Business, where she focused on entrepreneurs and startups and launched several video series.

Lauren earned a B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008, and she graduated with an M.S.J. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 2010. Diana Ransom Diana Ransom is the editor of YoungEntrepreneur.com and a contributing editor at Entrepreneur.com, which are published by Entrepreneur Media Inc. There, she has both written and edited stories about startups and technology, among other things. She also writes a regular column about starting up for Entrepreneur's Startups magazine.

She has served as the assistant business editor for the New York Daily News and a senior reporter for SmartMoney.com, where she received a Deadline Club award for deadline reporting for her story "The 70% Discount on Goldman's $500M Gift." She's also worked for The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company magazine and The Christian Science Monitor.

Ransom received a master’s degree in business and economic reporting from New York University and an undergraduate business degree from George Mason University. She was born and raised in Northern Virginia, studied abroad in Florence, Italy and now lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Joseph Jaffe, Founder and Partner at Evol8tion

Diana Ransom Joseph Jaffe is one of the most sought-after consultants, speakers and thought leaders on innovation, marketing, new media and social media, Joseph Jaffe is Founder & Partner of Evol8tion, LLC, an innovation agency that matches early stage startups with established brands to partner via mentoring, pilot programs, investment and/or acquisition. Stacey Ferreira, Co-Founder at MySocialCloud.com [via Skype]

Stacey Ferreira Stacey Ferreira is the co-founder of MySocialCloud.com. Just one day after graduating high school, Stacey Ferreira moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Los Angeles, California to start a business with her brother, Scott Ferreira and their friend Shiv Prakash. Together, the three of them began building the platform that is known today as MySocialCloud – an online platform that allows individuals to store their usernames and passwords for auto-login.

Two months after she moved to Los Angeles and at the age of 18, Stacey and her brother raised $1 million in investment for MySocialCloud by Richard Branson of Virgin, Jerry Murdock of Insight Venture Partners, and Alex Welch of Photobucket. This all happened thanks largely to a tweet she found on Twitter.

After the investment, Stacey ventured to New York City to study music business at New York University while also working on MySocialCloud.com. During this period she was very active in the entrepreneurship scene serving on the executive board of 4 NYU entrepreneurship/technology blogs and clubs.

Since her freshman year, Stacey moved back to Los Angeles to work full time on MySocialCloud.com while speaking at various events, including a TEDxtalk in San Diego and many speaking events for the GRAMMY Foundation. Stacey has also been featured by Entrepreneur Magazine, Fox Business News and Huffington Post to name a few major press coverages.

Emily Miethner, Founder and President at NY Creative Interns

Emily Miethner Passionate about the power of relationships and their positive effect on our careers and happiness, Emily Miethner can be found at events, conferences, and schools speaking about building community; online and offline, for individuals and businesses.

As the Founder and President of NY Creative Interns, an organization dedicated to helping young creatives discover and achieve their dream career, Miethner has produced dozens of events, interactive classes, and workshops about social media and networking that have engaged and inspired creatives at all stages of their careers.

Arjun Rai, Founder/Showhost at TheBizDen.org and Founder/CEO at Canvs.Co

Gemma Craven Arjun Rai is a New York City based entrepreneur orginally from West Windsor, New Jersey (aka Princeton Junction). Since high school, Arjun has been networking with some of the most well known entrepreneurs and even worked on a few projects and startups of his own. Upon graduation, Arjun pursued his career opportunities and came to New York City where he enrolled at the New York Institute of Technology in 2011 with scholarships and grants. Following a few weeks into college, Arjun launched his second startup, fuelbrite.com, a social media agency focused on small businesses and startups, and a student-focused organization, TheBizDen. After interning at a PR and ad agency in the summer of 2012, Arjun quickly saw the need for yet another startup within the tech space and raised a seed investment round to build it out. That startup became the Canvs Project (Canvs.Co) and aims to bring the future of the workspace and tablet computing to thousands of companies around the world.

In his spare time, Arjun also loves to host his own business show, TheBizDen, take photographs, watch soccer games, attend meetups/conferences and listen to music from Adele, Coldplay, Ingrid Michaelson, Rascal Flatts and Sarah Brightman among others. Starbucks Coffee is also one his favorites (especially for meeting other fellow entrepreneurs). Arjun started TheBizDen during his first year at college to encourage and motivate students to engage with business leaders at a much earlier age (much like himself). Today, the organization hosts not only podcast-based shows but also monthly meetups and annual conferences with some of the most well known, influential and passionate business leaders from around the world (past guests have included Steve Forbes of Forbes Magazine, Peter Shankman of Help a Reporter Out, Avi Savar of Big Fuel Communications, Ian Wolfman of MePlusYOU, Stephen Messer of Collective[i] and many more).

Arjun currently lives in New York City and is in his sophomore year at the NYIT School of Management (majoring in Small Business and Entrepreneurship). He also holds several notable awards and is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and Golden Key International Honour Society. His favorite TV shows include, "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Shark Tank", "Friends", "Money Moves with Deirdre Bolton", "Big Bang Theory", "Selling New York", "Bloomberg Game Changers", "Bloomberg West" and "Star Trek". He continues his attempt at mastering the french language to speak fluently when he buys a second home in Paris…one day. His dream home of the future includes BoConcept furniture and Bang & Olufsen technology (minimalist and contemporary). Arjun loves visiting downtown Princeton, NJ and would love to visit Palo Alto, CA one day (and eventually Space too). :)
