Woodland School, in partnership with Challenge Success, an affiliate of the Stanford Graduate School of Education is hosting a parent education presentation on “The Well Balanced Student” with Gina Morris, Program Director of Challenge Success. This workshop examines the tensions that can occur between students, parents, and educators over issues such as homework, grades, and the culture of competition. It will offer parents research-based strategies to create healthier home and school environments.
In this presentation, you will learn:
How students today are coping or not with the academic pressure they face
Ways you can reduce academic stress without sacrificing achievement or engagement in school
Strategies to increase resilience, creativity, and well-being for your child
Challenge Success, a research-based organization begun at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. They develop refreshingly practical curriculum, conferences and other programs for parents, schools, and kids looking for a healthier and more effective path to success in the 21st century. We provide families and schools with the tools they need to raise healthy, motivated kids in a fast-paced world, because we know success is measured not at the end of the semester, but over the course of a lifetime.
Woodland School is pleased to host Challenge Success and hope that parents from our local community will join us for the evening.
