This course explores the use of everyday life events, as they are occurring, for therapeutic purposes. It provides a framework of supporting others in moving to a place of less pain and trouble – or simply towards the next step in their development. Topics include recognizing daily life events, themes, and opportunities, characteristics of relational child and youth care, the process of change, and the elements of intervention.

James Freeman, MA, CYC-P, has been involved in the field of child and youth work for over twenty years. He is the training director at Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families, president of the Child and Youth Care Certification Board, and a senior trainer for TransformAction International.
