When & Where
SweetBread Jim’s is Americana Indie Rock combining multiple music elements such as soul, jazz, country, blues, rock and roll, and pop. The music features soulful lyrics rife with word play, catchy bass lines, and melodic drum styles. SweetBread Jim’s musical style has been compared to No Doubt, Amy Winehouse, and Cake.
SweetBread Jim’s formed in October 2010 in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. The band has released a 4-track EP and several promotional music videos. The band is known for releasing satirical, comedic “commercials” advertising their shows. SweetBread Jim’s live performances at venues such as Black Cat, DC9, and Velvet Lounge have earned them much local attention as they incorporate elements of performance art and sell cheap, used merchandise in their “Junque Shoppe.” Currently the band is working on their debut 10-track album set to release Fall 2012.
