The Stewart Foundation will hold its 7th Annual Career Day on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from 7:00a.m. to 12:00p.m at Towers High School located 3919 Brookcrest Circle Decatur, GA 30032
As a volunteer presenter, you will be expected to give an interactive presentation that lasts for approximately 30-45 minutes. You may want to include the following areas in your presentation:
1) daily work tasks and responsibilities
2) salary range
3) educational requirements
4) personality traits needed to be successful in your position
5) perks and disadvantages of the job
6) academic subjects that relate to the job
7) activities students should do now if they are interested in pursuing your career.
8) any other information you feel is important. Handouts, demonstrations, and props are always appreciated.
You will present the same information two times during the course of the morning, to a maximum of thirty-six students per session.
Two-Three presenters per class.
7:00 - 7:30 - Registration & Breakfast
7:30 - 8:00 - Welcome, Announcements & Introductions
8:00 - 8:10 - Ambassador Escort to Classroom
8:10 - 9:45 - 1st Period
9:45 - 9:55 - Ambassador Escort to Classroom
9:55 - 11:25 - 2nd Period
11:25 - 12:00 - Closing Ceremony & Lunch
Please advise if you're only able to stay for a portion of the program so we can assign speakers to classes accordingly
Speakers will be directed by ROTC to park in student parking lot, 1st gate on right from highway.
Please bring plenty of business cards. Great networking w/ students & speakers.
For the most part, each classroom is equipped with TV, DVD, VCR, Whiteboard. However, please be prepared if classroom lacks adequate resources beyond our control. Feel free to email your requests so I may advise school ASAP.
No more than 36 students to a class.
We're in a larger school this year so we appreciate your referrals. Please have additional speakers RSVP ASAP as we're now assigning speakers to classes.
