    Topic Summary:  


     Using the EB-5 as a means to start your own company and secure a green card or raise capital for your business 

    This talk will cover what entrepreneurs and investors need to know about gaining lawful permanent residency (or a "green card") in the United States by using the EB-5 investment visa category.  Our speakers will also discuss ways in which startups may use EB-5 as a vehicle for raising capital for their projects, and helping other foreign national investor gain their permanent residency in the United States.

    About Our Speakers:


    Cynthia Lange 
     leads the Fragomen's high tech practice in the heart of Silicon Valley. As the managing partner of the firm’s Northern California practice, she directs the strategic representation of companies ranging from large fortune 500 companies to small start-up companies in the firm’s “e-group.” She has worked with numerous companies to set up and manage worldwide immigration compliance programs and offers legal advice to individual investors on the EB-5 program. 

    Cindy Jen 
     is a senior business immigration attorney with Fragomen who helps lead the EB-5 practice in Northern California and  provides strategic counseling on a wide range of employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters.  She has provided counsel on a vast array of visa strategies for professionals, managers and executives, persons of extraordinary ability, entrepreneurs and immigrant investors.  

     Cindy has extensive experience advising companies, from large, Fortune-100 corporations to start-up businesses, on developing compliant immigration programs to suit dynamic business needs.  From 2012 to 2013, Cindy worked in Fragomen’s Beijing office, managing the firm’s China outbound visa practice and focusing in particular on EB-5 investor applicants from China. In Santa Clara, Cindy regularly counsels investors on obtaining permanent residency through EB-5, and is a lead on the EB-5 team in the firm’s Northern California practice.
