The Seeing Lab
Learn how to detect & read Micro-expressions
6:30 - 9:30 pm
The Seeing Lab is a course to learn how to detect and read micro-expressions - small contractions of the facial muscles that last only tenths of a second, but give a window into what someone is feeling.
Ever talk with someone & get the feeling that there's something more they want to say? Maybe they said they were happy, but you noticed a tint of sadness. Or maybe they said were mad, and you noticed a hint of happiness.
In this fun, interactive course we'll do a pretest of your people-reading abilities. 2.5 hours later, your post-test scores will show you how much you've learned.
By learning how to notice and read facial & body micro-expressions, you'll become more compassionate, aware & intuitive. You will notice mixed emotions, feel an increased sense of calmness & confidence, and an ability to cut through the clutter to figure out what truly matters to you and your conversation partner.
This course is based on Dr. LeeAnn Renninger's research on memory and the 5 senses, Paul Ekman's research on facial expressions, Karl Grammer's research on movement cues.
We'll be using imaging software - the same kind used by secret service agents - to learn how to detect and notice facial micro-movements, a skill that leads to big boosts in one's ability to 'see'.
What you'll leave with:
• Expertise in Emotion reading
• Add a new layer of excitement to your everyday conversations
