The Runaway String Band in a free concert at the Williamsburg Library
Theatre, 515 Scotland St., on Saturday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m. The
Runaway String Band, made up of four long-time Williamsburg-area
musicians, uses lush vocal harmonies and hot instrumentals to provide
audiences with a taste of American music from the 1930s, 40s and 50s,
and includes some contemporary pieces as well.
The program is being offered free of charge as part of the library’s Centennial Celebration Series, made possible by Lee and Betty Ann Griffin, marking 100 years of public library service in Williamsburg.
