Description

This event is focused on giving non- scientific people a better understanding of all the science, engineering, and technology that is shaping the Marcellus/Utica plays.

Attendees will understand the scientific process better and be able to answer questions more thoroughly, represent more accurately, and negotiate more effectively. The first presentation, led by a senior geologist, will take a look at what exactly the Marcellus shale is and how the natural gas is extracted.

We’ll then take a look at the surface. Our audience will learn what a typical Marcellus well does to the soil, forestry, and agriculture of an area. Next we will examine mechanical equipment itself. Our engineering expert will discuss why horizontal drilling was such a big break through and the difference in yield it produces. We’ll also learn about how shallow produces can convert existing equipment to pursue shallow oil well drilling.

The last two hours will be devoted to hearing from experts in technology and mapping. They will share their expertise in the latest breakthroughs and benefits to the latest mapping programs, wireless drilling equipment, and organic fracking fluids.
