The Reagan Presidency
Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EST)
Join us for a special early premiere of the PBS television series, The Reagan Presidency, with commentary from writer-director Chip Duncan and executive producer David Crouse. The Hauenstein Center’s Gleaves Whitney will join them to offer historical perpective on the 40th president. The Reagan Presidency series includes many new and diverse perspectives and insights based on a generation of study. The long-term implications of Reagan administration policies, both domestic and international, are well documented. The series also includes many things that have not been seen or heard in previous documentaries including Secret Service audio from the minutes following the 1981 assassination attempt on Reagan's life and videotape recordings of the president's weekly radio addresses.
Inspired by Ralph Hauenstein, we seek to provide a platform for emerging leaders in all three major sectors of public life – business, government, and nonprofit. We promote civic engagement that (1) honors the Founders’ vision of a constitutional republic; (2) builds on existing democratic institutions that promote justice, freedom, opportunity, sustainable prosperity, and the rule of law; and (3) envisions the possibilities for creating better communities.
