Event Details

On Thursday, January 24, researchers from The Kaiser Family Foundation and the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) will present the results of a new survey of the American public on their health policy priorities for President Obama and the 113th Congress at a briefing sponsored by Kaiser and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  With challenging economic conditions, a looming debt limit deadline and ongoing discussions about budget deficit reduction the second term of the Obama Administration and the opening of the 113th Congress have led to nonstop debate and activity since the November elections.

Researchers at Kaiser and HSPH will present the findings of a survey of public opinion on key issues policymakers are likely to confront in the coming year, including the part key health programs should play in deficit reduction efforts, the future of Medicare and Medicaid, and the appropriate role for federal and state governments in improving health and health care. The event will build off the findings of the survey to inform a distinguished panel discussion with reporters covering the policy and politics of the Obama White House and Capitol Hill.
