The Pop Up Cookery School
There and back again: a short walk through a new landscape of food and cooking
Once upon a time we didn’t know how to cook and then we did and now we don’t again.
With a few ingredients, a knife and a pan or two, Barny Haughton (Rocinantes, Quartier Vert, Bordeaux Quay) and his Cookery School set out to cook seven different recipes that will tell you everything you need to know about food since man discovered that fire could keep you warm in winter and you could cook on it.
This is more than a cookery demonstration: It’s about you in your kitchen with your knowledge, your budget and your expectations.
It's also, incidentally, about the future of food. The landscape is changing at every level. What do YOU want from it? Ten quid, 90 minutes, plenty of tasters, lots of fun and who knows – maybe together we can make a real difference.
The Cookery School and Kitchen
Currently based at Bordeaux Quay, the Cookery School is embarking on a journey, popping up at different stations along the way before arriving at its final destination and new home, the Park in Knowle West, in January 2012.
