Description

Shifting from common deficit or strictly behavioral models, this two-day course presents a practice model for “therapeutic helpers” (e.g. educators, child & youth care workers, foster parents) based on the workings of various brain systems and equips participants with a practical framework for short-term, momentary management and long-term planning for young people who may have experienced relational stress, trauma, or disrupted relationships.

Objectives

On completion of this course successful participants will be able to:

1. Describe the significance of relationship, culture, and ecology in the process of transformation

2. Assess and respond neurodymanically to basic brain and body states that drive behavior

3. Apply strategies to NeuroRelationally reimburse young people in elements of their lives that have been broken or are missing

4. Integrate short term, momentary management concepts correlated to ACT QUICK process when supporting individuals who are experiencing stress, conflict, or crisis

This is a two-day course and hours will go as followed 9:00a - 4:00p (lunch on your own), Sign in begins at 8:30 am

Please note: This course requires a minimum of 6 participant


CONTINUING EDUCATION:

This course meets the qualifications for 12 hours of continuing education credit for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Education Psychologists (LEPs), and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs) as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families; Provider 2522).

Provider approved by the California Association for Alcohol and Drug Educators, Provider #; CP10 914 C 1117 for 12 Contact hours.

This course is approved by the California Department of Social Service for 7 hours of continuing education for administrator recertification. Course Number: GH 166-0704-28483 (Day 1)

This course is approved by the California Department of Social Service for 6 hours of continuing education for administrator recertification. Course Number: GH 166-07-28484 (Day 2)

This course meets the qualifications for 12 hours of continuing education credit for Child and Youth Care Professionals (CYC-P) as required by the Child and Youth Care Certification Board. Content domain: Relationship and Communication (6hrs)
