The Opa Hackathon
We'll provide free pizzas and drinks for lunch, as well as hoodies/mugs/etc. Some of our awesome partners including AWS, 10gen, VMware (Cloud Foundry), Scalr, Geekli.st and CloudSpokes will make short presentations. Even if you're new to Opa, the members of the growing community will help you develop real-time web apps easily through the different workshops.
We'll also launch the Opa Developer Challenge during this event.
Where is it?
The event will be located at SomaCentral on one market street in the Steuart tower. The entrance will be only by Spear Street. The access to SomaCentral is restricted and thus registration is compulsory. Please bring an ID.
What is Opa?
Opa is a new open source programming language for web application development. It is a tierless language that produces both client and server. Opa is a very efficient language and, for instance, a simple real-time web chat takes less than 20 lines. Thanks to its strong static type, it is safe and secured (against SQL injections or XSS attacks for instance) and built to be scalable.

When & Where
MLstate is the company who created Opa. The Opa project started in 2007 and it was released as an open source technology in June 2011. Our goal is to make it easier and safer for developers to create web apps.
