The Next Women Investment Pitch Evening

Orrick, 107 Cheapside, London.  Near St Pauls.   

The NextWomen are running a Pitch Evening with Investors on April 30th. The event, sponsored by Orrick, aims to support women-led businesses prepare and practice their investment pitches with a real panel of investors.

Up to 6 women-led startups will have an afternoon workshop to prepare for the evening pitches. Up to 40 guests will further join the event at 6pm.

The event will give women founders, even with little or no experience in fundraising, a first review of their business plan by experts and investors from The NextWomen and initial practice of their pitch in a friendly environment, gaining first-hand insights and feedback from experienced investors from the judging panel.

Pitching companies must purchase their ticket on this site, which entitles them to:

          ◦    Tickets for two founders or team members to the event,

          ◦    A first review of their business plan via email by a mentor from TheNextWomen

          ◦    A workshop on the evening of the event to help them prepare for the evening pitch,

          ◦    The opportunity to pitch to the judging panel 


40 guest tickets are available for people who wish to watch pitches and network with fellow entrepreneurs and the panel of investors.

Workshop Leader & Keynote Speakers

Hanadi Jabado, Pitch Workshop Leader Hanadi has founded and built businesses in several industries and been closely involved with over 100 start-ups globally and across industries. She has used her multicultural background and experience with new technologies to co-found ecamb, a business accelerator aiming at helping entrepreneurs to succeed globally and driven the creation of Accelerate Cambridge, the new accelerator at the Cambridge Judge Business School.

Dana Al-Salem, Entrepreneurial Keynote Speaker Dana al-Salem is a technology entrepreneur. She was a co-founder of Yahoo Europe. She is currently CEO and Chairman at FanFactory. Previously she was involved in Lost Records, Bruce Dunlop & Associates


Brynne Herbert, Raising Investment Keynote Speaker Brynne is a finance professional-turned-entrepreneur who is changing the $100bn global mobility industry for businesses and individuals. She believes in improving the flow of labour and capital around the world and in helping individuals acquire global capabilities to solve the world's global problems.

The Investor & Expert Panel

Hussein Kanji, Early Stage Tech Investor (Hoxton Ventures) Hussein is an angel investor in several early stage startups including Bea’s of Bloomsbury, Exclusively.in (acquired by Myra), GoCardless, LLUSTRE (acquired by Fab) and Signpost, and an advisor to European Leaders, Exceptional.io (acquired by Rackspace), Jaycut (acquired by RIM) and Tarmin.

Andrey Kessel, Serial Entrepreneur and Investor Working with and Board member/investor/shareholder/advisor of multiple early stage companies, venture funds, programmes or interesting venture opportunities. Experience includes 15 Board roles, involvement with about 100 companies (close work with 30+), 50+ financing transactions, 3 IPOs/listings, multiple completed M&A deals/exits (both private and public) and a blue chip venture capital firm. Co-founded several startups. Rounded operational experience covering most aspects of establishing and running a business, business development, managing offices, teams or projects.

Itxaso del Palacio, Investment Analyst (EC1 Capital) As an Academic, she teaches Entrepreneurial Finance at UCL. She is also integrating an acceleration program at the MSc in Technology Entrepreneurship at UCL. The goal is to help students build MVP and test them in the market during their university studies. In the past, she has put in place several projects to bridge university entrepreneurs and startup/investor communities in London, Silicon Valley and Spain.

Tim de Vere Green, British Early Stage Investment team 2012 Qi3 Tim’s early career was in management consultancy (with Arthur Andersen) and investment banking (with Barclays de Zoete Wedd).  On leaving the city, Tim founded Origin Corporate Finance, specialising in early-stage private equity transactions, mainly in the technology sector.

Suzanne Biegel, Serial Entrepreneur and Investor (Currently a Senior Advisor to ClearlySo) She sits on the Advisory Board for Investors' Circle in the US (where she was previously CEO). She is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Confluence Philanthropy. She also co-chairs the Values Based Investment group of Women Donors Network, and runs Women in Social Finance in London.

Melanie Perkins, Portfolio Director at Capital for Enterprise Ltd (The Aspire Fund) Melanie joined Capital for Enterprise in 2009 to assist the Equity Team with the setup and management of The Aspire Fund. She also takes overall responsibility for portfolio management.
