When & Where
Mothers' Milk Bank of Mississippi and La Leche League of Metro Jackson
Mothers' Milk Bank of Mississippi, founded in 2010, is a non-profit milk bank in the Human Milk Banking Association of North America network. We screen potential donor mothers, then accept, pasteurize and dispense donor human milk to premature and ill infants in Mississippi by physician prescription and according to guidelines from the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA). We currently serve the NICUs of six Mississippi hospitals, and have five collection depots throughout the state. MMBM is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization.
La Leche League of Metro Jackson is a non-profit mother-to-mother support group for breastfeeding mothers. Accredited Leaders hold monthly meetings, moderate online groups through Facebook, and are available for individual help as well.
