The Men of Hula

Intersections: The Men of Hula, is the third and final in a series of films and community discussions on art, cultural identity and social justice.
The Men of Hula will feature a viewing of "Na Kamalei: the Men of Hula", an award winning film by Lehua Productions followed by a presentation on the heart and spirit of Polynesian culture by Pua Tokumoto, producer of the San Jose Tahiti Fete (www.tahitifete.com) that will take place 4th of July weekend.
Also featured will be a live men's hula performance by Halau Na Wai Ola and a reception with live music by Dwight Tokumoto, Rodney Takahashi, Wayne Jian and friends. Light refreshments will be served.
This event is CO-PRODUCED BY THE CONTEMPORARY ASIAN THEATER SCENE (CATS) and is made possible by a grant from the ARTS COUNCIL SILICON VALLEY

Please join us for a live multimedia performance of MANDELA! This inspiring performance portrays Mandela's life journey from rebel to prisoner, to leader of a diverse South Africa. The performance will be followed by a short reception where you can meet the actors. AND IT IS ALL FREE!
