Darko Hrelic is senior vice president and chief information officer at Gartner.
Darko Joined Gartner in January 2007 from ADP, where he led all aspects of ADP’s technical Strategy, Architecture and Technology as VP & CTO of Employer Services. He played an instrumental role in driving the SOA vision & strategy, making legacy systems on-demand SOA capable, definition and implementation of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) based on a loosely coupled integration architecture, common hosting platform & infrastructure, automated software provisioning and deployment, incubation-based software development process, enterprise SOA standardization and governance board and others.
Prior to joining ADP, Darko spent over 21 years at IBM, most of which were at the world renown TJ Watson Research Center, working in areas such as videotext, high speed communications, electronic commerce and others. He also helped form the IBM Internet Division in mid-90’s, where he spearheaded the technical strategy for eCommerce – aka “eBusiness”. In year 2000, Darko was also a key technical driver in helping found e2open.com, a high tech industry electronic marketplace consortium startup.
