The Microscopy and Microanalysis Research Laboratory (MMRL) at Montclair State University is an interdisciplinary research, teaching and service facility providing material characterization in support of advanced science and engineering research.
The MMRL offers individual technical training and formal course instruction through the College of Science and Mathematics, and also provides other academic institutions and New Jersey’s business community with a wide range of specimen preparation and analytical services for biological, medical, chemical, ceramic, metal and geological specimens including natural and synthetic materials.

The College of Science and Mathematics (CSAM) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Biology and Molecular Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Studies, Mathematics and Physics, and interdisciplinary degree programs in Marine and Coastal Sciences, Science Informatics, Mathematics Education, and Environmental Management.
