The Life & Lessons of Martin Luther
Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The pope and the government wanted him dead for preaching the grace of Jesus.
He spent his time in hiding translating the Bible in to German.
Though he was a priest, he married a woman (who happened to brew great beer).
His passion for the Gospel of Jesus changed the history of not only the Church, but the world.
You should know Martin Luther.
Associate Professor of Christian Thought at Biola University, Jason Oakes, will be guiding us through the evening as we look at the life and lessons of Martin Luther.
The hope is that this will be a conversational evening where we will look at the life of Luther, with an emphasis on drawing personal and practical applications to our life now. We will discuss his early monastic life, the start of the Reformation, and his later years as a husband and father. We hope to touch on critical theological topics such as sin and justification, as well as more practical matters, such as vocation, marriage, and parenting.
