More Than a Training Event, a Life Changing Experience

Leadership is a lifelong journey, and a life-changing one as well. The Leadership Challenge® Workshop is a unique program that has served as a catalyst for profound leadership transformations for individuals within organizations of all sizes and industries. During the workshop, participants will develop new skills and capabilities based on The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®, thus increasing their ability to provide credible and effective leadership to their organization.


The Leadership Challenge® Workshop Includes:

  • Interactive 2-day Workshop, led by Certified Master Facilitators Stephen Hoel & Mary Cooper
  • The Leadership Challenge® Workshop Participant Guidebook and other valuable resources
  • Online Leadership Practices Inventory® (assessment inventory) including all processing, scoring and confidential feedback for one Self and up to ten ”Observer” respondents (direct reports, manager, coworkers, etc.) 
  • Individualized coaching during the program 
  • Networking opportunities with other leaders
  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included

*The Facilitator Training Includes:

  • Interactive 2-day Training, led by Certified Master Facilitators Stephen Hoel & Mary Cooper
  • The Leadership Challenge® Facilitator Kit and other valuable resources
  • Practice the facilitation of at least one Leadership Challenge® Module and receive coaching from Certified Master Facilitators and feedback from peers
  • Online Leadership Practices Inventory® (assessment inventory) including all processing, scoring and confidential feedback for one Self and up to ten ”Observer” respondents (direct reports, manager, coworkers, etc. if not completed already) 
  • Facilitator Training Certificate of Completion

*The Facilitator Training is an additional session designed for individuals interested in facilitating future The Leadership Challenge Workshops® on their own. Participation in The Leadership Challenge Workshop® is required.

An Evidence-Based Leadership Model

The Leadership Challenge® is an evidence-based leadership development model that is backed by over 28 years of rigorous research by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. Since 1982, Kouzes and Posner have continued to conduct hundreds of interviews and case studies to understand the times when people perform at their personal bests. Intensive research and analysis have revealed that five fundamental practices were present during extraordinary leadership achievements.

Today, these behaviors are known as The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®. This approach is now the world’s most practical model for leadership development. 


The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®

Model the Way

Leaders establish principles concerning the way people should be treated and the way goals should be pursued. They create standards of excellence and then set an example for others to follow. They unravel bureaucracy when it impedes action; they put up signposts when people are unsure of where to go or how to get there; and they create opportunities for victory.

Inspire a Shared Vision

Leaders passionately believe that they can make a difference. They envision the future, creating an ideal and unique image of what the organization can become. Through their magnetism and quiet persuasion, leaders enlist others in their dreams. They breathe life into their visions and get people to see exciting possibilities for the future.

Challenge the Process

Leaders search for opportunities to change the status quo. They look for innovative ways to improve the organization. In doing so, they experiment and take risks. Stephen Hoel

For over 25 years, Stephen Hoel has been delivering leadership training programs, while threading the concepts of diversity into all of his workshops. He is a Certified Master Facilitor of The Leadership Challenge® Workshop and uses The Leadership Challenge® tools and other developmental concepts to assist organizations in creating an environment where all individuals and teams can do their best work. Stephen has a vast array of operational experience in the hospitality industry in both operations management and human resources with Walt Disney World Resort, Hilton, Marriott and other independent hotel and restaurant organizations.


Mary Cooper

Mary Cooper

Mary is a Certified Master Facilitator of The Leadership Challenge® Workshop and acclaimed speaker presenting keynotes, training, and leadership development programs to diverse audiences and organizations from around the world. With more than twenty years operational experience with Fortune 500 companies and six years as a former consultant with Disney Institute, she works with leaders and teams in both the private and public sector. Her passion, experience, and knowledge have assisted individuals and organizations to achieve extraordinary results.





Full refunds will be made if cancellation notice is received at least 30 days prior to the event. There will be a $100 cancellation fee if credit card is used. Cancellation made within 30 days of the event will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Substitutions are allowed, time permitting.

Registration fees do not include overnight accommodations and transportation. The Program Center is located about 20 minutes from downtown Orlando. We have a number of options in lodging for those traveling from outside the Metro Orlando area.
