Reading Odyssey process?
The process is simple:
- participants read about a chapter a month - with reading questions assigned by the Reading Odyssey moderator
- then each month the readers get on the phone to discuss that chapter (and the reading questions assigned by the moderator)
- each phone call is recorded and the .mp3 is made available to the readers who missed it
- The moderator is also available via e-mail during the month to answer questions - and members are encouraged to use the group e-mail listserv and blog to discuss the reading
We'll be using the Landmark Edition of Arrian's The Campaigns of Alexander. James Romm, the editor of this edition and a professor at Bard College, and Paul Cartledge, A.G. Leventis Chair of Greek Culture at Cambridge, will join us for one of our calls to answer questions and discuss Arrian and Alexander.
The Landmark Edition is available at Amazon or can be borrowed through your local library using the Reading Odyssey website directory of U.S. libraries - http://borrowabook.org.
