Important Information for Attendees of the Inaugural Penn Law Sports Law Symposium

We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Pennsylvania Law School for what will be a very special event. Below you will find key logistical information to ensure that your visit on Friday, February 28, 2014 is as seamless as possible.

The symposium will run from 9:00 am to 6:00pm. The program will begin promptly at 9:40 AM. Please allow at least a 20-minute window to provide time to register, get breakfast, find your seat, access the Wi-Fi network, and take care of any other administrative or logistical needs.

Law School Location

The University of Pennsylvania Law School is located at 3501 Sansom Street (between 34th and 35thStreet). For those arriving by public transportation this is a short walk or cab ride from 30th Street Station. Upon arrival, please use the Sansom Street Entrance. If you enter at the 34th Street Entrance you will be directed to go around to Sansom Street.


The garages and lots closest to the law school are as follows:

  • 34th & Chestnut Street (University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University garages)
  • Sheraton Hotel (36th & Chestnut Street)

Additional parking can be found at:

  • 32nd & Walnut Street
  • 38th & Walnut Street (please use 38th Street entrance)
  • Penn Tower Hotel (34th & Civic Center Boulevard)
  • South Street & Convention Boulevard
  • 40th & Walnut Street

There is also very limited two-hour street parking on Sansom Street between 34th and 35th Street.

Registration Tickets and Identification

Please remember to print out your Eventbrite registration ticket and bring it with you the day of the event as it will ensure a quick check-in. Upon your entrance into the law school building please show the print out to our security guard. You will then be directed to the registration table. At the registration table you will check in and receive your name badge.

Penn Law and outside students MUST present a valid student identification. Media memberMUSTbring valid media credentials along with their ticket.

Attorneys Seeking CLE Credits

Attorneys seeking CLE credits please remember to bring a $45 check (or $30 for public interest attorneys and transitioning attorneys) to pay for your separate CLE cost. Checks should be made payable to “The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania.”

Wi-Fi Access

We will have fully operating Wi-Fi access available to attendees throughout the Symposium. The Conference code is: C-ECTDOYL, which can be accessed from the Air PennNET-Guest network. Please reference the attached document for further instructions.We do ask that attendees be respectful regarding their laptop use during panel discussions and the keynote address. 

76ers Courtside Seats/VIP Experience Raffle!!

Penn Law ESLS will be raffling off three pairs of COURTSIDE SEATS/VIP EXPERIENCES to see your Philadelphia 76ers play!

The VIP Experience includes waitress service at your seat throughout the game, with complimentary food and beverages (including alcohol). It also includes access to the luxurious Lexus Club during the entire game, with complimentary high-end buffet and top-shelf beverages.

How to Enter: ESLS board members will be selling raffle tickets in the Davis Student Union (the area located immediately outside Fitts Auditorium) throughout the Symposium. The breakdown for raffle ticket prices is as follows: 

  •  $10 suggested donation per raffle ticket 
  •  $25 suggested donation for three raffle tickets
Symposium Winner: Three tickets will be drawn at random at the symposium on Friday, February 28. These three individuals must be in attendance at the conclusion of the symposium at 4:45 PM. They will then be called upon to answer a series of five trivia questions. The participant who answers the most questions correctly will receive first pick for the pair of courtside seats to an upcoming Sixers game.

Post-Symposium Winner: Five tickets will be drawn at random after the Symposium on Friday, Feb. 28thThese five individuals will receive a phone call and will be asked five trivia questions. The two individuals who answer the most questions correctly will receive vouchers for two pairs of courtside tickets each to attend a 76ers home game. Voucher winners will speak with a representative from the 76ers to select a mutually agreed-upon game. The third place participant will receive a certified autograph photograph of hometown hero, Temple University legend, and Former Philadelphia 76ers Center, Lavoy Allen.

Tickets have been and remain non-refundable.

For those attending, neither Penn Law Entertainment & Sports Law Society nor the University of Pennsylvania Law School are resposible for lost or stole items left in the self coatcheck.

If you are a media member who failed to contact Penn Law ESLS prior to downloading a free media ticket and have had your ticket removed for failure to respond to inquiries by an ESLS boardmember or for any other reason you may be asked to leave the event if you seek admission.

This program has also been approved for 4.5 substantive law credit hours for Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York attorneys. CLE credits may be available in other jurisdictions as well. Attendees seeking CLE credit should bring separate payment of $45.00 ($30.00 for public interest attorneys) cash or check payable to “The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania”. If you are not attending the entire program, the fee for CLE is $15.00 per credit hour.
