The Hospice of Baton Rouge sponsors "Honor Flight" (The Movie)
Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (PST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The Hospice of Baton Rouge brings "Honor Flight", the movie, to our community. This movie is a heartwarming documentary about four living World War II veterans and a Midwest community coming together to give them the trip of a lifetime. Volunteers race against the clock to fly thousands of veterans to Washington, DC to see the memorial constructed for them nearly 60 years after their epic struggle. This movie also chronicles the stories of veterans Joe Demier and Harvey Kurz. Joe was famously pictured in Life Magazine as "the Human Skeleton" upon his liberation from a German POW camp. Harvey was there when the iconic flag went up at the Battle of Iwo Jima. This touching movie will be shown at the USS Kidd Theatre in honor of Veterans Day on Sunday, November 3rd, at 2:00pm. Admission to the movie is free of charge.
