Kidd Jordan and Hamiet Bluiett saxophone improvisers
- Old U.S. Mint, New Orleans LA
The Honorable South have been composing, recording and playing together since 2008. Their guitar driven sound has a hard edge with an R & B pulse. The group calls it “Electric Soul, Rock & Roll”. Their songs have a pleasing dynamic, building in intensity and breaking it down to funky drums and vocals. Sometimes the gritty guitars thrash but still cannot overpower MS Charm's voice that remains effortlessly in the forefront. The press often mentions how The Honorable South's songwriting is not typical of the New Orleans tradition but that deviation is exactly what makes them welcome addition to the city's musicscape. The Honorable South offers more than just a party, it's music with a message.
