For the final installment of The Hollywood Masters series, Stephen Galloway interviews Academy Award-nominated writer/director/producer Gary Ross (Pleasantville, Seabiscuit, Hunger Games). Ross began his career as a screenwriter, earning an Academy Award nomination for his work on Big. After 10 years as studio writer, Ross made his directorial debut with Pleasantville. This led to the critically and commercially successful Seabiscuit. The film went on to receive seven Academy Award nominations including two for Ross. His most recent film, The Hunger Games was a box office phenomenon, grossing over $650 million and establishing the franchise for future success. He is currently writing/directing an update of John Steinbeck's East of Eden with Jennifer Lawrence attached to star.
