For many people, the span in between the High Holidays feel more like the Days of Wha? than the Days of Awe. Join HIGHER SELF for the next few weeks as we re-dedicate ourselves to personal growth by prepping to spend those days between much like a sabbath for the year.
In this four-part series, we'll create and refine personal journals to have on hand during the High Holidays. By the time Yom Kippur arrives, rather than complaining about a fast that feels meaningless, you can turn your hunger inwards, towards something authentic, spiritual and real guided by the pages within of your journal.
Rabbi Finley promises to illuminate notions such as Sovereignty of the Divine -- even for Atheists; High Holy Days as Sacred Theater; Becoming Angels and Authentic Happiness. Plan ahead to carve the time out to attend on 9/8, 15, 22 and 29, from 6:30-7:30 pm -- and bring a blank journal and a pen!
Classes will be held in the JCC's Dance Studio. Park in our lot (entrance is on Effie between Myra and Bates), and the stairs to the studio will be on your left when you enter through the yellow gate.
