This fascinating documentary, narrated by Kiefer Sutherland, tells the real story of how the healthcare system in Canada turned out so different from that in the United States. Cutting through the fear-mongering campaign financed by US health industry "big business," The Healthcare Movie shines a truthful light on the sustainable system that successfully supports the health, dignity and financial security of all Canadians.
The screening will be followed by a discussion of California's potential to build on the Affordable Care Act and lead the nation to truly sustainable and fair healthcare reform. Moderated by Nancy Niparko, MD, Pediatric Neurologist and member of PNHP, the expert panelists include:
- Paul Song, MD, Radiation Oncologist, Board Member PNHP and The Courage Campaign;
- Anita Anderson, Patient Advocate, Set Medic/IATSE, Canadian living in the US;
- Chris Brown, MD and MPH, Internal Medicine Resident, Delegate: Committee of Interns & Residents
