Governor McDonnell and First Lady Maureen McDonnell today announced the first “Capitol Easter Egg Hunt,” to be held on Wednesday, April 4. First Lady Maureen McDonnell said, “Bob and I are looking forward to welcoming children in the Greater Richmond community to the Capitol to participate in an evening of music and fun. The Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt will be an opportunity for families to visit our historic Capitol Square, participate in fun games and to welcome in Easter. We are also encouraging guests to bring baby shower gifts for expectant military moms. As a military wife and Blue Star Mom, I understand how difficult it is on the family when a loved one is away and know that gestures of gratitude such as these gifts can make a big difference for military families. I want to thank the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, the Virginia Egg Council and the many wonderful partners who made this event possible.”
