The Ghosts of Goliad 2 Day Rifle Marksmanship and Texas History Course
BattleRoadUSA will once again be scheduling Fundamentals of Rifle Marksmanship classes starting in September at our facilities in Central Texas to coincide with the seven month run for Texas Independence which started at Gonzales on October 2, 1835 and ended at Sañ Jacinto on April 21, 1836 with the surrender of Santa Anna and the beginning of a new nation.
The 2 day classes will be taught on Saturdays and Sundays with an emphasis on learning the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, at 25 meters on the first day, and on the second day at actual distances of 100, 200, 300 and 400 meters, with the possibility of shooting out to 500 meters,(the Rifleman's Quarter Mile) if time allows.
This is not a basic or baby course. You will be learning the fundamentals, the things you need to know no matter where your shooting path leads you. The course will begin with teaching you how to safely handle a rifle and then take you from understanding how to adjust your sights and zero your rifle, to making shots on multiple targets from multiple positions under time constraints.
In addition, folks attending will hear the detailed and passionate history of the birth of The Great State of Texas. In the course of seven months, we will follow the Texas Colonists as they fought over a dozen major battles which finally resulted in Texas winning It's independence from Mexico. The Battles of Goliad, The Siege of Bexar, Battle of Agua Dulce, Refugio, The Alamo, The Battle of Coleto Creek and many more, culminating with The Battle of Sañ Jacinto.
I hope that as Texans you will want to come out and spend a weekend each month learning to shoot your rifles safely and correctly and hearing us spin out the story of the birth of Texas, month by month, as told by our instructors, Texans who are passionate storytellers, telling the story while standing under the six flags that have flown over the state/nation of Texas.
If you have home school groups or church groups who would like to attend as a group, we would be glad to make room for you or set up a price break for your group. There is free camping and a large campfire area perfect for sitting around at night as marshmallows are roasted and the tales of Heroic Texans are told.
If you would like for us to bring our instructors and the history of Texas to a range near you we will be glad to do so. Just message me here and let me know where you are, when you would like to host the event, and we can bring a turn key operation to your range or private land facility, with instructors, targets, all other necessary equipment and liability insurance to cover the event.
They say those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it.
The story of Texas is the story of a group of people who wanted their freedom and who wanted to be given their rights, under the constitution they were supposed to be living under and protected by at that time.
The same exact story which had been played out only 60 years earlier by the colonists of New England, beginning in April of 1775.
The same story playing out again today, in the state of Texas, in the nation of America. 235 years later, and 179 years later.
Texans, you answered the call once before, will you answer the call again?
Join us for these events at the Battle Road facilities in Davilla, Texas. A tiny Texas town which missed out on becoming the early capitol of Texas by only a couple of votes.

When & Where
Let’s face it, most of us are not Elite Military/Law Enforcement operators. Those warriors have the benefit of being in a multiple person unit and having access to restricted weapons, tools, and countless hours of training. So when you are alone and you’re forced to address a threat in your home, vehicle, or other location; individual, not team tactics, will be required to increase your chances for a positive outcome. At Battle Road USA we specialize in meeting the concerns for the everyday persons' survival.
