The Game Development Hackathon @RIT
Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM - Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 5:00 PM (EDT)
Like games? Great! We do too, and want to help you get started creating games of your own, even if you’ve never even considered it before.
Using Scirra’s Construct 2, you can create games for multiple platforms including the Windows Store with no coding required. Join fellow students to get expert help from Microsoft and earn $100 per game (via the “Keep the Cash” promotion) for publishing your games to the Windows Store. We’ll also have lunch and prizes on hand for completed games and more!
Saturday, April 27th
10 AM – 1 PM: InstallFest & Lunch
An optional session to help get your computer ready for game development and fuel up your body with lunch as well. Join us to install Windows 8 and Construct 2. There are several simple installation options, whether you have a PC or a Mac, so join us and prepare to become a published game developer!
1-5 PM: The Game Hackathon!
Game on! Using Construct 2, you can create games of your own with zero coding required! We’ll get you started with a brief tutorial and advice on getting started, then we’ll let you unleash your creativity and help you with any questions.
Sunday, April 28th
11 AM - 1 PM: Using Construct 2 Session & Lunch
This is an optional session where we’ll share some tips and tricks on cool things you can do with Construct 2, for beginners and intermediate users as well. And while we like games, we like food too, so we’ll have lunch there as well.
1-5 PM: More Game Hackathon, Windows Store Submissions, and Prizes!
The Game Hackathon continues, and we’ll help you finish your games and get published to the Windows Store. Join us even if you can’t make the Saturday event and we’ll be happy to help get you started with Construct 2. Don’t forget, you can earn $100 per published game (details here), show off your game if you’d like, and we’ll have various prizes on hand as well!
This event will take place in 70-2435.
