Cultivate Kansas City welcomes Mark Bittman to Kansas City for the 2013 Urban Grown Farms & Gardens Tour. This summer, experience all the ways good food is grown in Kansas City; visit up to 60 sites showcasing urban agriculture and join the urban grown revolution. Mark Bittman will deliver his keynote address “The Future of Food” on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Unity Temple on the Plaza. Following the presentation, he will be available to sign copies of his newest book, VB6: Eat Vegan Before 6:00.
We appreciate Chipotle Mexican Grill for sponsoring this event and for their ongoing support of urban agriculture and local food. Chipotle will be hosting a free reception before the event. Barbacoa and sofritas tacos, along with margaritas, will be served from 6-7p.m. on the lower level of Unity Temple.
Mr. Bittman is the lead food writer for The New York Times Magazine, and a columnist for The Times Dining Section. His books include the bestselling How to Cook Everything and the groundbreaking Food Matters, which explored crucial connections among food, health, and the environment, and provided tangible guidance for Americans rethinking their diets.
