Event Details

How can foundations improve how they learn about their strategies when operating in complex settings?

Join Patti Patrizi and Elizabeth Heid Thompson on Nov. 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. in this webinar based on their article Eyes Wide Open: Learning as Strategy Under Conditions of Complexity and Uncertainty in the current issue of The Foundation Review.

The authors will discuss:
  • How foundation learning about strategy is hampered by a failure to recognize and address the uncertainty surrounding their work;
  • Three common “traps” that hinder foundations’ capacity to learn and adapt: Linearity and Certainty Bias;  Autopilot Effect and Indicator Blindness; and
  • Approaches foundations can employ to improve their capacity to learn during the course of strategy.
