The Iron Mike Chapter of the Adjutant General Corps Regimental Association

About our beloved Corps and Organization:

Established on 16 June 1775, the post of the Adjutant General was established on the same date, and has been continously in operation since that time.  The Adjutant General Department, by that name, was established by the act of 3 March 1813 and was redesignated The Adjutant General Corps in 1950.  The Corps home station is based out of Fort Jackson, South Carolina and our motto is to "Defend and Serve".

The Iron Mike Chapter of the Adjutant General Corps Regimental Association (AGCRA) is a non-profit community organization of volunteer members for the Fort Bragg community.  The organization exists to provide opportunities for all U.S. Army active, reserve, and retired Adjutant General Corps Soldiers, Human Resources Soldiers and Bandsmen of the active, reserve and army national guard force.  This includes federal civilian employees affliated with the Army’s Human Resources community, spouses, widows, or widowers of active members, Soldiers and federal civilian employees, military service members and civilians of DOD, other U.S. sister services, and allied nations with a close affinity to the Adjutant General Corps, Association or Regiment, to aid in preserving the proud heritage of the U.S. Army Adjutant General Corps for posterity.

We exist to provide the following:

  • Sponsor new Human Resources methods, techniques and innovations to increase efficiency of the U.S. Army

  • Provide a forum for the mutual exchange and discussion of ideas and information of interest to members

  • Promote espirit de corps among all members of the Association

  • Publish the official journal of the AGCRA, 1775

  • Encourage improvements in research and development programs in our field

  • Research, record, and perpetuate an understanding of the history of the Adjutant General Corps and our Association

The association devotes its efforts and activities to the aims and purposes generally set forth in its constution and bylaws, and to such other supplemental directives and objectives as may be approved by the executive council.

The AGCRA Annual Ball is a celebration of our regiment, while keeping the legacy alive and passing the tradition down for other generations of the military's finest.  This will be Fort Bragg's first Adjutant General Corps Regimental Annual Ball.

Symbolism of the Regimental Insignia:

The basic design--the shield from the Coat of Arms of the United States-- was adopted in 1872 as a solid shield of silver, bearing thirteen stars. In 1924, this design was authorized to be made in gold metal with the colors red, white, and blue in enamel. In December 1964, the insignia was changed to silver base metal with silver stars and silver and red enamel stripes.

Symbolism of the Branch Insignia:

Dark blue and scarlet are branch colors of The Adjutant General's Corps. The inner white border signifies unity and the good conscience of those who have done their duty. The inner red, white and blue shield is the insignia of The Adjutant General's Corps and the gold laurel wreath around its base stands for excellence in accomplishing the mission. The ''1775'' in the crest is the year The Adjutant General's Corps was created. The color red symbolizes valor and the blood shed in our war for independence.
