Changes: More Than An Upgrade

March 31, 2014

The years-in-the-making transition for “Fashion Stories Radio” starts now.

And with minimal fanfare, we have set a meeting to share the new plans. On Saturday, April 5, 2014, starting at 12:00 Noon, we will put the Fashion Stories Radio element in context by offering a first look at the complete Fashion Media Project. A Free Preview!

Join us at the Seattle Public Library, Fremont Branch, 731 North 35th Street, Fremont/Seattle, Washington 98103.

There Is No Charge For This Event

Advance Registration Is Requested

Go To: https://fmp1.eventbrite.com

Important will be all parts of “The Million Dollar Package”: (1) A Digital Television Channel, (2) The Fashion Bloggers Connection / “A Very Stylish Mixer”, (3) Fashion Stories Radio / The Fashion Business News, (4) Video Production / The Fashion Business News, (5) An Internet Channel / Events, (6) A Fashion Photography Exhibit, (7) International Everything and (8) A Transmedia Seminar.

From this will come a comprehensive outline and possibly the narrative for a Fashion Media Project future exhibit.

Remember, this is a free preview! Invite your friends.

The most visible changes in the new 2nd Quarter, 2014 will be our adjustment of offices as we work to find the best mix in our facilities planning.

We have closed the Fremont/Seattle office. We will expand our presence in California. We will continue our planning for growth in New York.

In Southern California, the current co-working space in Culver City becomes the hub for our network of studios and connections for the radio show. As we proceed towards developments in Digital Storytelling and video production, the local talent pool in the fine arts, entertainment and media will be a tremendous advantage.

Northern California innovation in digital technology, systems and integrated design is legendary. We expect that current Silicon Valley relationships will be brought closer to our development core as the infrastructure for our radio and audio production, distribution and promotion is revealed.

The crew we have built in the Northwest, including Washington State and Oregon will become an extension of our Northern California work.

With equal passion, we will focus on two markets to present our case and secure new business partners. The first is New York. Although our footprint is small, by building social contacts through the Fashion Bloggers community, an entire universe has become available in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

In the second market, California, we have years of experience developing the concept and building respect for the Digital Television channels phenomenon, which had to come first.

So what about radio?

Editorial is the next big push for Fashion Media Stories. First, to secure writers for all aspects of product development, then for continued research and lastly as correspondents around the globe.

Whenever you hear the melodious “Fashion Business News” from our anchor or announcers, you probably know that dedicated, knowledgeable writers are working in the background.

In tandem with our creating the periodic news and interview segments, we are building the concept for a season special edition titled “What Are You Wearing New Year’s Eve?”

If you are one of the fortunate companies selected to collaborate on this transmedia excitement, our 2014 special could test your ability to research, write, produce, gather technology resources, build distribution and/or attract sponsors.

Digital Storytelling

We have learned that radio is a great anchor for Digital Storytelling. This special will be productive for both creative and technology talent. And especially to assist those who: need coaching, guidance or support in reviewing the money angle in the trade; need to learn more about the strong, creative options in radio and digitally distributed audio.

Content Marketing

When we have seen the multiple ways news segments and special production editorial can be used as the source document for other media options, we can truly see the potential. Add pictures and we are in print. Add video – and you know the rest.

First steps for Content Marketing start in June with a newspaper column taken direct from the Fashion Business News section of Fashion Stories Radio. This will be followed by carriage on one or more Web sites and through digital audio downloads.

Production for the Fashion Business News will follow a 3-step process. The steps are: Initial studio production, post-production for editing and music and detailed editing for distribution to the various stations and audio outlets.

And to stay on distribution for a moment, various is the word. We are reviewing base radio stations (terrestrial) for initial broadcast, small and large distributors as a critical step for syndication, and brand-name download entities on the Internet.

When these decisions are made, custom promotions will be offered to gain attention in each market and for each model.

As mentioned earlier, the Fashion Bloggers have given us a healthy start in New York. Our 2014 schedule (February, May, August, November) has already started plans with New Yorkers for a Fashion Media Project Travel Club. In 2015 we will build on both levels of this success with locations across the United States, starting with Santa Monica.

The fist question that came in was, “Can we still have an overview?”

Yes! When we present on April 5th the narrative is just that. An overview including products presented to potential sponsors with the title, The Million Dollar Package. Again, this is a free preview!

The Next Meeting: Digital Technology Support

For those who want to help build the infrastructure: On April 16, 2014, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (with a small after reception following) we will have a Fashion Stories Radio Production Meeting at /Dev/Local, known as “Coworking for people who design and build software”, 3601 Fremont Avenue North, Suite 300, Fremont/Seattle, Washington 98103. There is additional information about the organization at http://devlocal.io.

At this session you will have the opportunity to read scripts and explore the plans for Content Marketing. And if you are on that path, you can learn to build your radio show!

Of course the main dance is to discuss the digital infrastructure for The Fashion Stories Radio show. You can meet the crew and enjoy a complimentary beverage for only $10 per person. There are only 12 tickets available.

Digital Channels Discussion / Meeting

The Fashion Media project leads a double life. It is a stand-alone, responsive transmedia, media icon. It is also the starter kit for the programming for a digital television channel. On June 13, 2014, all parties connected will be guests at the 6th Annual “Digital Channels” Discussion, presented by Thornhill & Studio and partners.

The daytime presentations and the evening International Toast are schedule for Bellevue, Washington.

Presentations at Digital Channels are updates in business categories necessary to start and maintain a Digital Television Channel. Examples will be given from the Thornhill & Studio enterprise. Brands cited are The Digital Television Report (DTR) – including the new education spin-off, The Fashion Media Project, Thornhill News and 29 Tablets.

Business Development

Within our reach is the opportunity to turn a lot of our work into revenue. We are always involved in information gathering, or research. We have learned to consider product development a part of our continuous improvements culture. New we are heading into a time where the presentation package will be as important as all other responsibilities.

Together they will certainly validate every slice of our revenue stream.

Essentially, we have learned a lot in these past few years. This is the time for us to convey our benefits to our partners, the regular followers and the public at large. In hopes of attracting others to our big-time future, let me list the small-time tools we must master to provide continuity for getting our message out. Be careful – this could get boring.

Telephone calls, text messages, paper, events (from meetings to networking), conference calls, email, LinkedIn, Facebook, Eventbrite, a blog and the Web site. And significantly, joint promotions.
