The Fall 2013 Bob and Pam Goergen Lecture Series.
Closer: The Art of Chuck Close in the Context of the 1970s
Thursdays, October 3, November 14 and December 12, 2013, 7:30 pm
With a body of work composed almost entirely of portraits, American artist Chuck Close has been astounding us with his artistic verisimilitude for more than four decades. One of the great modern masters of printmaking, methodical yet always inventive in his approach, Close has consistently pushed the boundaries of each process and technique he undertakes. In conjunction with Closer: The Graphic Art of Chuck Close, the Goergen Lecture Series for fall 2013 will explore key issues in Close’s art and career.
Dessert reception and open galleries 6:30 – 7:30 pm
These lectures are generously underwritten by Pamela and Robert Goergen.
