The International School of Business at Kendall College is hosting an event to promote entrepreneurship among our students and the Chicago community. More than 20 students have traveled from Europe to participate in our summer entrepreneurship program. In this Advanced Seminar, students learn entrepreneurial processes from ideation to funding. Join them at this special event when we explore how 5 unique entrepreneurs have started and grown their businesses in the context of cultural and economic challenges, followed by a cocktail reception. MATT MADAY CEO & Co-Founder, OnCall Interactive. Maday is an entrepreneur, inventor, author and educator. He is the co-founder and CEO of the digital agency, Oncall Interactive. As CEO, Matthew plays an advisory role, on digital strategy, for firms such as McDonald’s corporation, Microsoft, and uBid. Maday has been credited with inventing PromoVantage, a patent-pending sweepstakes deployment and analytics platform, used by the NFL, Restaurant.com and Discovery channel. He has also invented BRANDflex, a first-of-its-kind brand management platform, enabling brands such as Harley Davidson and Hewlett Packard to maintain brand consistency worldwide. Maday in on the Advisory Board of Kendall College’s International School of Business. He also serves on the Heartland Mobile Council, an organization that focuses on the progression of mobile technologies, and on the board of Universal Peace Plan, a Chicago-based non-profit organization that focuses on the advancement of non-violent solutions and positive social change.
LEE GREENE Owner, Faithful to Foods, Inc. and Scrumptious Pantry. Lee is the founder of Scrumptious Pantry, a brand for packaged heirloom foods from the Midwest and beyond. The unique branding concept, which highlights the farmers on the front label, creates a new level of transparency in grocery retailing. Before launching Scrumptious Pantry, Lee was the Managing Director of a biodynamic vineyard in Tuscany. As a consultant for integrated marketing strategies at one of the leading German communication agencies she has worked for international cooperation such as Henkel and Wal-Mart. Lee holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Cologne/Germany, and an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan/Italy.
JOAO GONZAGA Founder, kyntal. Joao Gonzaga is an entrepreneur with extensive experience the mobile industry in Europe, South America and Asia. Over the last 10 years, Joao has been consulting with major brands, advertising agencies, and mobile operators regarding their mobile strategy - on the technical and business aspects of integrating mobile solutions into their traditional marketing mix and product development. Since July 2012 he has been working on the development and launch of kyntal, a mobile-based discovery service that redefines how users discover places and events nearby based on their personal interests and preferences. Currently Joao serves as an Advisory Principal at Gramercy Venture Advisors for mobile related investments, where he performs due diligence, competitor analysis, and evaluation of new mobile technologies. From 2000 to 2011 he served as the co-founder, CTO/COO of conVISUAL AG, a leading mobile service provider for mobile value added services, mobile content, mobile applications and mobile marketing.
DWIGHT KOOP COO, Co-founder, CohesiveFT. Dwight Koop is cofounder and COO for CohesiveFT. His experience spans enterprise IT and entrepreneurial startups. Dwight was global head of data center operations and security for Swiss Banks capital markets and O'Connor and Associates. He was one of the founders and an EVP of the Chicago Board Options Exchange during its early and rapid growth years. As COO of Bedouin, Inc, he was instrumental in its acquisition by Borland, and as a VP at Borland he played a significant role in its acquisition of Starbase. He was also COO of Signet Assurance, where he is proud to say his engineering team consisted of Eric Hughes, the noted cryptographer, and Bram Cohen, the founder of BitTorrent. Mr. Koop is also the Managing Member of Leporidae Holdings LLC, a private asset management company. Leporidae recently sold its interest in Rabbit Technologies Limited to VMWare
PERRY WATSON III President of Lexus of Mishawaka. Before the Lexus dealership opened in 2001, Watson had a Dodge dealership that he operated in Minnesota for nine years. He was part of the Chrysler Minority Dealer Training Program from 1990 to 1993. Watson is originally from Muskegon Heights, Michigan. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. Watson is a member of the St. Joseph County and Elkhart chambers of commerce, Indiana Auto Dealers Association, and the National Association of Minority Dealers board. Locally, he is a mentor with the Urban League, Boys and Girls Club, and Jack and Jill of America. He is a member of Memorial Hospital's Entrepreneurial Advisory Committee. Watson has spoken on topics such as "Staying Motivated for Success" and "Keys to Being a Successful Entrepreneur.”
