The Empowerment of Buddha Vajrasattva
Sat March 2 10 am – 12:00 pm Vajrasattva Empowerment
Sat March 2 2:30 pm – 5 pm Empowerment Commentary
Sun March 3 11:30 am -1:00 pm Commentary and Practice
A Tantric empowerment is a blissful guided meditation through which we make a special, heart-felt connection with a particular Buddha and receive his or her profound blessings.
The enlightened mind is said to be like a boundless deep ocean, every drop of which has the power to bring inner peace to living beings. Receiving an empowerment is a means of connecting with this ocean-like potential inside our own mind, giving us the energy and wisdom to begin to realize our own Buddha nature.
In this empowerment, we will make a lasting and deeply meaningful connection with Buddha Vajrasattva, the embodiment of the pure mind and natural brilliance of all the Buddhas.
During the commentary, we will learn to engage in the mediation and recitation of Vajrasattva, which will enable us to purify the imprints of negativity latent within our consciousness.
Everyone is welcome.

Vajradhara Meditation Center
Vajradhara Meditation Center was established to provide people living in Brooklyn with the opportunity to learn about meditation and practice Buddhist teachings. To fulfill this aim we have a space at 444 Atlantic Avenue (between Nevins and Bond). We also offer branch classes at various locations throughout Brooklyn. The Center is run by volunteers who themselves are dedicated practitioners, and we have a warm and welcoming community.
Vajradhara Meditation Center is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT). The NKT is an International Union of Kadampa Buddhist Centers. There are currently over 1,000 centers worldwide. In the area, we have centers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and other locations throughout New York and New Jersey. From time to time we gather as a family at the Kadampa Meditation Center, home of our national Temple, for festivals, special courses, and retreats.
Please feel free to drop in for a visit, before and after class there is always someone on hand to answer your questions. Alternatively, you may contact us via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at: (917) 403 5227
