When & Where
East River Development Alliance
The East River Development Alliance (ERDA) is a non-profit organization based in Long Island City, Queens, dedicated to expanding prosperity and increasing assets in public housing neighborhoods, so residents and their families have opportunities for economic mobility and self-sufficiency. ERDA achieves these objectives through four integrated, comprehensive, and long-term programs which serve over 5,000 individuals per year, anchored by the ERDA Federal Credit Union, opened in 2010 as the first new credit union in NYC in a decade. We provide financial empowerment services including one-on-one financial counseling, comprehensive employment services including job training and placement, college access and youth development services, and community economic revitalization. ERDA works to ensure that residents of public housing are given the tools and opportunities to achieve their goals and to break intergenerational cycles of poverty.
