LUSINE

Jeff McIlwain has been producing his visceral, melodic strain of abstract electronic music as Lusine for over 10 years now. Originally a Texas native, McIlwain met Shad Scott while living in LA and put out his self titled debut on Scott’s imprint, Isophlux. He relocated to Seattle in late 2002 and began steadily releasing his music on Ghostly International. McIlwain has also contributed tracks to various compilations and remix releases on Mute, !K7, Kompakt, Asthmatic Kitty, and Shitkatapult. In 2009, he released the album, “A Certain Distance”, which featured the single, “Two Dots.” His recent, critically acclaimed album, “The Waiting Room”, was just recently released in 2013.

McIlwain has performed throughout the US and abroad, including the SXSW, Mutek, DEMF, Sasquatch and Sonar festivals, and sets at London’s esteemed Fabric nightclub, Tokyo’s Unit, and Berlin’s Berghain and Watergate nightclubs. He has been involved in the scoring of various film and commercial projects: co-scoring (with David Wingo) the 2008 film “Snow Angels” (with Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell), and “The Sitter” (Jonah Hill) and scoring the 2009 film “Linewatch” (with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Omari Hardwick). McIlwain teamed up with David Wingo again to score the film “Joe” (Nicolas Cage), which was released in the Spring of 2014. He just recently released his new “Arterial” EP for Ghostly in August of 2014, and is lining up tour dates for the Fall.

TARA BROOKS

In late 2007, when Tara Danielle Brooks put her first needle on a record, she had neither idea nor expectation that her passion for music would soon become her life-long career. She learned on vinyl using her natural ear for music. Through this route, she escaped into the sounds that helped her discover a new meaning to life. Experiencing magical nights at parties & festivals in Southern California, Tara discovered the power to be moved & touched by electronic dance music, causing pure enlightenment. She’s a self-taught deejay who found her destiny: To express creativity through music.

Tara's passion turned into an addiction, landing her gigs from all over So Cal, Vegas, Miami, New York, internationally, & more. She's opened/closed for many including Plastikman, Art Department, Thugfucker, Green Velvet, James Zabiela, Victor Calderone, Eric Prydz, Erick Morillo, Joseph Capriati, Alan Fitzpatrick, The Martinez Brothers, etc. She plays for Insomniac, The Bpm festival, Wmc Space Miami, Drais LV/LA, Marquee Day Club, & fills her year with Burning Man fundraisers, decompression's & a packed dj schedule on the playa. She describes Burning Man as "The he most magical, phenomenal, twisted experience of my life, & i've never felt an energy so beautiful before."

Her heart lies in techno, tech house, deep house, & older progressive, open minded & moved by a more underground sound & feeling. Influences include John Digweed, Art Department, Tennis, Victor Calderone, Lee Burridge, Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin, Pig & Dan, Los Suruba, Guy Gerber, Gaiser, Tube & Berger, Hernan Cattaneo, Audiofly & others like minded. Known for powerful drops, driving rolling baselines, beautiful emotional melodies, & deep & techno with a dark groove while still uplifting, she focuses on sounds that have the ability to touch the soul.

HENRY POPE

Henry Pope has taken the edge off the cubist while injecting color into the monochromatic. For several years, his name has been popping up on Top 100 lists, huge festival lineups (Coachella), and tastemaker music blogs.

With this year’s critical acclaim and recent successes playing the largest festivals in the world, Pope is set to release his debut EP titled “Waiting” in the summer of 2014. It’s official…it is his time to rise.

“I really admire when a DJ can catch me unaware and make me go, “ohhhh!,” just before running to my record box to dig out a long forgotten track, and I did that about four times in this one mix,” said InterestingBlends.com of Henry Pope’s Root Society set from Burning Man.

Downbeatscape.com called Henry Pope’s set at Maui’s Source Festival, “an awesome set of eclectic tunes, with heavy bass and a range of chilled and uptempo beats to give the audience a lot of flavor. You’ll hear funk, dub, trap, hip hop, glitch, breaks and even Brazilian beats in this mix.”

Originally inspired by the tunes of his Floridian upbringing, Pope was committed to his early music education that, eventually, led him to the University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he now makes Venice Beach his home, Henry Pope has moved international crowds in India, Nepal, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Europe.

Closer to home, his musical mastery has been enjoyed by discerning crowds at Coachella, Burning Man, Source Festival, One Love Festival, Lightening In A Bottle, Lucidity, Envision, Genius Loci, and the Lucent Dossier Experience. He is a veteran of the stage, who, as a bassist, has toured with various national artists including indie favorite, Small Flowers, where he revealed his skills as a writer and producer.

In 2014, he coproduced Mexico’s Genius Loci festival, a veritable kaleidoscope of surfing, music, yoga, and environmental activism.

The release of his first single, “Waiting,” features haunting vocals by Sophie Holt layered over live instrumentation and tasteful electronic highlights. It is a provoking and mature track that leaves listeners desiring more. While working on his debut EP, Pope’s original compositions have also been subtly earning accolades with film and television placements. If you love music of the highest quality, stay tuned because Henry Pope is dedicated to dropping pure gold.
