Nook and Cranny
- Unity Hall, Barneveld NY
The Dharma Bums String Band is a Unity Hall summertime favorite. A consortium of musicians spanning multiple generations, disciplines and geography, The Dharma Bums play an extremely eclectic blend of music that includes bluegrass, jazz, western swing, country, swing standards and almost anything else you can think of. They have been described as a jazz quintet trapped in the body of a bluegrass band.
Remsen Social Club is a rowdy five man group tearing their way into the local music scene. Seemingly fueled by Utica Club, moonshine and the sound of stomping feet, RSC burns through their original tunes as well as a few revised covers with abandon. Whether on the stage in Sterling or the streets of Old Forge busking for beer money, this band keeps true to its alternative Newgrass/Americana roots. They're currently working on their first album, to be released soon. This is a band to keep an eye on, and remember - you saw them at The Hall!
The Unity Hall Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to maintaining Unity Hall in Barneveld, New York as a home for the arts and community activities.
