The Bodhisattvas' All Encompassing Ethics (May/CC)
Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 1:15 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, United States
1:15 pm - 4:15 pm
With Tenshin Reb Anderson
In the City Center Dining Room at 300 Page Street
Sometimes an aspiration arises in the heart of a sentient being to realize true enlightenment for the peace and happiness of all beings. In protecting and developing this great wish one becomes a bodhisattva. However this aspiration is not actualized without training. It is necessary to embrace a bodhisattva's three pure ethical precepts. They are: the ethics of restraint, the ethics of collecting wholesome factors, and the ethics of accomplishing the welfare of sentient beings.
This day will offer an opportunity to receive and practice bodhisattva's ethics, bodhisattva's justice.

When & Where
San Francisco Zen Center (SFZC)
Established in 1962 by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi and his American students, San Francisco Zen Center is a Soto Zen Buddhist community with three practice places in the SF Bay Area: City Center, an urban temple in the heart of San Francisco; Green Gulch Farm, in Marin County, where fertile fields meet the ocean; and Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, the first Zen training monastery in the West, in the Ventana Wilderness inland from Big Sur. At San Francisco Zen Center, zazen, study, and work practice are available to a diverse population of students, visitors, lay people, priests, and monks. All are welcome!
