with Art Director Richard Smith
and Senior Associate Producer Charles Babb
from 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 at the Art Institute in Santa Monica!
Topics will include the inspirations for the distinctive comic book art style, methods for unifying character and environment design, the dynamics of cross-cultural teams and tips for working within a "super agile" production process!
Richard has contributed artistically to the success of several award-winning titles: Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 and Titanfall. Most recently, as Art Director for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, Richard has helped create a unique and visually striking approach to a stylized world. His goal is to continue to explore the cross-section of art, technology and play.
Charles Babb is a successful videogame industry producer and designer with experiences across many industries. An expert in development methodologies, process implementation, and game theory, Charles has worked for Neversoft Entertainment, Sony PlayStation, and Spark Unlimited in the Production department. Before video games, Charles worked in manga publishing, television/film production, and marketing.

The Art Institute is located at 2900 31st St, Santa Monica.
Please check in at the security desk, then follow the hall to the second room on the left.
Parking in the 31st Street Circle is free after 6 p.m. Otherwise, take a ticket and park in the Art Institute lot, but be sure to receive a validation from our Art Institute hosts before 8 p.m. to avoid paying the fees.
