The Any1Can Painting Party at Independence
Monday, March 25, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (EDT)
Join us for this fabulous opportunity to come together as a community and support the Any1Can Project, a collaborative service effort in 14 North Carolina schools!
Throughout the year, students at these schools (including students at Independence) have studied seven diverse, but interconnected, global issues:
- Poverty and The Global Economy
- Hunger and Nutrition
- Water and Infrastructure
- Peace and Conflict Resolution
- Access to Education
- Environment and Climate Change
- Social Attitudes and Prejudice/Tolerance
As part of the Any1Can Project, each participating school hosts a Painting Party-- a chance for students, parents and other members of the ENTIRE school community to come together at fun events where every ticketholder receives a white T-shirt with an Any1Can logo.
Using the seven global issues as a starting place, each person at the party gets to hand-paint his or her own ideas and images about making a difference directly on the T-shirt.
Ticket proceeds from painting parties benefit the Raising South Sudan project, a school-building effort in the world's newest country. Specifically, proceeds from The 2013 Any1Can Project will go towards a permanent, primary school in the village of Aliap, Unity State, South Sudan.
From April 13-19, 2013, there will be a gallery-style installation of the handcrafted T-shirts at Sensoria, the annual literature and arts festival on the main campus of Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). Visit www.any1canproject.org to learn more!
We hope you can support this exciting, innovative event that celebrates the collective power of many individual voices.
