Take Action Today」

1)Tour of Duty

2)External Network

3)Corporate Alumni

尚、Chris氏は、来る78日にLinkedIn FounderであるReid Hoffman氏、起業家のBen Casnocha氏と共著で、「The Alliance: Managing Talent in the networked age」をHarvard Business Review Pressより出版予定です。

We, Take Action Today, are delighted to inform you that we have a seminar, The Alliance: Managing Talent in the networked age on this June 24th.

We invite Chris Yeh, general partner at Wasabi Ventures this time. He has conducted a decent research about a relationship between employer and employee at leading startup companies in Silicon Valley and he is going to give a talk about the desirable way of managing talent in the networked age. Here are three main points.

1)Tour of Duty

Having a Tour of Duty enables for employer to enhance “Lifetime Employability” of employee as well as for employee to enhance “Adaptability” of employer. In the talk, the speaker will provide an example of the company where they set four years of Tour of Duty for each employee. As a result employees and managers performed very well and the company achieved rapid growth.

2)The importance of external network

The employee who has an external network tends to contribute an innovation at the company. In the talk, the speaker will provide a successful example of the company where they compensate the expense which employee use to build an external network.

3)Corporate Alumni

In general, ex-employee has a new knowledge/wisdom which previous company doesn’t have so it is quite critical to install the knowledge/wisdom from ex-employee, namely corporate alumni. In the talk, the speaker will provide an example of the company which manages alumni organization in order to collect latest knowledge at any industry. Surprisingly, 40% of the revenue of the company comes from companies where alumni manages / belongs.

Chris is publishing a book on July 8th, 2014 co-authoring with Reid Hoffman, a founder of LinkedIn and Ben Casnocha, an entrepreneur. The title is The Alliance: Managing Talent in the networked age printed by Harvard Business Review Press. Please visit the site.

Come and join our networking event after the seminar.

Chris Yeh: Born in 1974 in California. He went to Stanford when he was 15 and got double major, Creative Writing and Product Design. After his graduation, he joined a hedge fund, D.E.Shaw Group. He went to Harvard Business School, HBS, when he was 23 and got backer scholar. He started a company while he was in HBS. He started another company after he got a MBA and sold it.
