When the Advertising Club of New Orleans began in 1910, it had 42 members. The first inaugural dinner took place at Kolb's Restaurant on March 22, 1910. It was the second such organization in the United States- the advertising community in Denver Colorado, had formed a similar group only a short while before. As an organization, the club serves as an umbrella for many related trades that combine to create the advertising industry. Over the last 100 years, the technology of advertising has changed but not its basic purpose: to persuade a consumer that a product, service, or cause is worthy of purchase or support. Not only are the advertising agencies represented among the membership, but material suppliers, printing and publishing companies, media buyers and sales representatives and public relations personnel from companies and organizations both large and small in the greater New Orleans area.
As an organization, we thank all of the Past Presidents for leading this organization throughout the years, all of the dedicated Board Members and volunteers and to the members thank you, if it wasn't for your continued support and participation, the Advertising Club of New Orleans could have not existed for 100 years.
