Event Details

Event Description:

This is the 4th Annual Ancestor Celebration featuring a costumed Egungun Masquerader from Nigeria.

The purpose of the Egungun Celebration is to celebrate the positive contributions of our collective Ancestors and to spiritually cleanse the community. This is based on the Yoruba spiritual belief that is mirrored in many Indigenous societies worldwide that Ancestors play a unseen but important role in the lives of their living descendants.

The celebration will include costumed ritual dance, drumming, food, and education about the cultural significance of the event.

It starts at 10:00am and ends at 4pm.
