Join Us at The 3rd Annual "Break of Day" 5k Walk

to Defeat Colon Cancer

As part of our mission to raise community awareness of colorectal cancer, Crusaders for Colon Cancer, Inc., a non-profit,501(c)(3) tax exempt organization will hold an organized walk, the theme of which is "The Break of Day". 150,000 men and women in the United States are diagnosed yearly with colon cancer. Colon Cancer is the 2nd cancer killer.

The event is open to the public, and people can participate as individuals, vendors, and /or volunteers and part of a team. The team with the most participants will win a trophy. Navy blue is the color that represents colon cancers. 3 Individuals with the most creative outfit will win a trophy. We are also inviting merchandise vendors, organizations, etc. to set up booths at the event site.

The Walk was truly amazing last year! Participants were very excited to learn about the risks factors regarding colon cancer. We were just as excited to raise colon cancer awareness in the community.

This year, we will award trophies to the team with the most participants, and the individual who wears the most creative outfit. "Creative" outfits are optional. There is only one requirement in regard to the creative outfit- it should be a shade (or shades) of blue- navy blue in particular. It's the symbolic color of colon cancer awareness.

The Crusaders would love to extend a special thanks to everyone who participated in the 2014 walk and for making it a success! They are as follows, but not limited to the following:

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee - Lifetime Member

State Representative Senfronia Thompson - Lifetime Member

State Representative Sylvester Turner - Lifetime Member
